What are some of the specific conditions you treat?

I am a surgical PA in the field of gynecologic oncology. The field of gynecologic oncology involves the evaluation and treatment of patients dealing with ovarian, endometrial, uterine, cervical, vulvar and vaginal cancers as well as the care of patients who may carry genetic mutations that put them at higher risk for certain gynecologic cancers. I assist with pre and post operative care of individuals

dealing with these diagnoses as well as assist the gynecologic oncology surgeons in the operating room.

What techniques or procedures do you use in your practice?

Many of the surgeries I assist with can be performed laparoscopically, through small incisions, often with robotic assistance. Having assisted with hundreds of robotic surgeries in my time here at Valley over the past 6 years, I can testify our techniques strive to minimize post operative pain for patients and often allow them to go home the same day the surgery is completed.

What would you like patients to know about your approach to care?

My approach to care is team-based, with the patient being the most important member of the team. Dealing with gynecologic malignancies can be extremely stressful for patients and their families, and I strive to ensure that patients understand their treatment plans and diagnoses and that we are there for them during every step.
