What are some of the specific conditions you treat?

Some of the specific conditions that I treat include coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction, cardiomyopathy, congestive heart failure, valvular heart disease, cardiac arrhythmia, hypertension and hyperlipidemia.

What techniques or procedures do you use in your practice?

I perform diagnostic cardiac catheterizations and percutaneous trans coronary angioplasty and coronary stents to treat coronary artery disease. In addition, I do exercise stress tests, echocardiograms, and cardiac monitors to detect coronary artery disease, valve disease, and arrhythmias.

What would you like patients to know about your approach to care?

I am compassionate and a very good listener. I take the time to listen to my patient’s concerns and formulate a treatment plan. I believe in not only treating the disease process but also identifying risk factors and aggressively treating those factors also to prevent the further progression of the disease.

Dr. Skolnick, his nurse were very pleasant, efficient and thorough in taking care of me. They answered all of my questions in this follow-up visit. I have been going to Dr. Skolnick for many years and when he recognized a cardiac problem 2 years ago, he immediately set up tests that confirmed his initial diagnosis and set me up for the interventional surgery. He literally saved my life. The follow-up appointments have gone very well and I am so grateful for his medical expertise.
