What are some of the specific conditions you treat?

I primarily treat malignant (cancerous) and benign tumors of the following parts of the body: skin, soft tissues (fat, muscle, connective tissue), pancreas, bile ducts, gallbladder, liver, stomach, small and large intestines, as well as the appendix and peritoneum (lining of the abdominal cavity). I also treat benign conditions such as hernias of the groin and abdominal wall, in addition to gallstone-related problems. Lastly, I place long-term intravenous (IV) access devices, sometimes called "ports", when patients need them to receive medications such as chemotherapy or immunotherapy.

What techniques or procedures do you use in your practice?

I strive to use the most minimally invasive technique that is safe and effective for each patient. In my practice, this often includes the use of laparoscopy or "keyhole" surgery in the abdomen, as well as robotic surgical technology with the DaVinci Xi system.

What would you like patients to know about your approach to care?

My personal philosophy of medicine is to provide my patients with the best possible care for their individual situations. To me this means combining evidence-based scientific knowledge and surgical expertise, with the patient’s specific goals and desires, to arrive at a treatment plan that is both effective and patient-centered.
