Describe some of your professional highlights.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from NYU in 2010. I attended medical school at Howard University College of Medicine in 2018 where I was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. I completed both my residency in internal medicine and my fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. My research interest is in breast cancer, specifically in survivorship. Before leaving NYU, I was working with the breast group to obtain an NIH grant to investigate the use of psilocybin to prevent fear of cancer recurrence in early-stage breast cancer patients.
What would you like patients to know about your approach to care?
I believe that a strong doctor-patient relationship is built on compassion, empathy, and active listening by the physician. I advocate for treating the patient as a whole, not just the disease.
