Bio

What are some of the specific conditions you treat?

I specialize in the diagnosis and management of pulmonary hypertension, including pulmonary arterial hypertension, PH associated with interstitial lung disease, connective tissue disease associated PH, chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) and other forms of pulmonary vascular disease. I also care for patients with complex pulmonary conditions such as chronic lung disease and unexplained shortness of breath. My goal is to identify the underlying cause of a patient's symptoms and develop an individualized treatment plan that improves both quality of life and long-term outcomes.

What techniques or procedures do you use in your practice?

I coordinate and interpret advanced diagnostic testing such as right heart catheterization, invasive cardiopulmonary exercise testing, and non-invasive cardiopulmonary exercise testing. I also focus on interpreting and reviewing results of echocardiograms, pulmonary function tests, imaging studies, and six-minute walk tests.

Describe some of your professional highlights.

I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care and have dedicated my career to caring for patients with complex pulmonary disease. I currently work with the Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension Program within Valley Health System where I help lead the growth and development of a comprehensive PH program while simultaneously delivering high-quality care to our complex patients. My work has included expanding access to advanced diagnostic testing, streamlining patient care pathways, improving access to specialty therapies and medications, and supporting multidisciplinary collaboration among cardiology, rheumatology, transplant, and pulmonary medicine. I have also established our very own Pulmonary Hypertension Support Group which meets quarterly to provide support for patients and caregivers with pulmonary hypertension.

What would you like patients to know about your approach to care?

Pulmonary hypertension is a very complex disease, and I believe that every patient deserves individualized compassionate care. I take the time to educate patients about their conditions, answer questions, and involve them in each treatment decision. My goal is to build long-term relationships based on trust, communication, and collaboration so that patients feel supported from diagnosis through every step of their care.

What inspired you to become a provider?

I have always been drawn to caring for patients with complex medical conditions and building meaningful relationships with them over time. I find it incredibly rewarding to help patients better understand their diagnosis, navigate difficult treatment decisions, and improve their quality of life. Being able to combine critical thinking with my ICU background and evidence-based medicine, patient advocacy is what continues to inspire me every day.

If you would like to include any additional information in your profile like clinical trials, research projects, current industry relationships, publications or awards, please indicate below.

I am actively involved in pulmonary hypertension clinical research and program development. My current research interests focus on exercise-induced pulmonary hypertension and pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease. I have participated in developing investigator-initiated research protocols evaluating inhaled Treprostinil in patients with exercise pulmonary hypertension and continue to support clinical trial development within our pulmonary hypertension program. I collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and specialty pharmacies to ensure timely access to advanced pulmonary hypertension therapies while helping expand innovative treatment options for patients. I am committed to bringing the latest evidence-based therapies and research opportunities to the patients I serve.
