What are some of the specific conditions you treat?
Some of the specific conditions that I treat include heart failure, valvular and structural heart disease, palpitations, and myocardial ischemia (angina and heart attack). Areas of preventive cardiology that I treat include high blood pressure, and elevated cholesterol, as well as those with a family history of heart disease.
What techniques or procedures do you use in your practice?
Some of the techniques and procedures that I use in my practice include transesophageal and transthoracic echocardiography, nuclear stress testing, cardiac computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging, electrical cardioversion, ambulatory heart monitoring, and cardiac rehabilitation.
Describe some of your professional highlights.
As a physician scientist, I utilize state-of-the-art technology to diagnose and treat patients with various forms of heart disease. My focus is on the development of artificial intelligence-based cardiac imaging platform with echocardiography and computed tomography for rapid, consistent, and vendor-agnostic diagnosis.
What would you like patients to know about your approach to care?
My approach to each cardiac problem is team based involving cardiac surgeons, interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, heart failure specialists, and cardiac imaging specialists. Our experienced heart team will take a meticulous and evidence-based approach to find the best treatment for our patients.

Dr. Cheng was a life saver for me on that day. I had very high BP and I was pretty much discourage after my check-in to valley hospital few days earlier [...]. Dr Cheng made some adjustment in my medication which help tremendously. Also it seems doctor has a plan on how to control my bp. Very happy.
