What are some of the specific conditions you treat?
Some of the specific conditions that I treat include coronary artery disease, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, valvular heart disease (aortic stenosis, mitral regurgitation, mitral stenosis, aortic regurgitation, tricuspid regurgitation), heart failure, arrhythmia, patent foramen ovale, pulmonary embolism, atrial septal defect, paravalvular leak, and cardiogenic shock.
What techniques or procedures do you use in your practice?
Some techniques or procedures that I use in my practice include right heart catheterization, coronary angiography, coronary angioplasty, percutaneous coronary intervention, zero contrast PCI,intracoronary imaging and physiology, stenting, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), transcatheter mitral-edge-edge-repair (TEER) using the mitraclip, transcatheter tricuspid edge-edge-repair, transcatheter aortic valve-in-valve replacement, transcatheter mitral valve replacement, percutaneous balloon aortic and mitral valvuloplasty, pericardiocentesis, Impella placement andmechanical support, right ventricular mechanical support device placement, and the percutaneous closure of patent foramen ovale and atrial septal defects.
Describe some of your professional highlights.
I have completed extensive research related to the use of intracoronary imaging and physiology to guide percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) as well as the use of zero contrast PCI to minimize the risk of contrast induced nephropathy in patients with advanced chronic kidney disease.
