What are some of the specific conditions you treat?

As a cardiologist, I have expertise in treating adult cardiac diseases which include coronary artery disease, angina, myocardial infarction, hypertension, congestive heart failure, cardiomyopathy, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation, valvular disease. Apart from that, I also focus on prevention and lipid management in younger and high-risk populations like familial hypercholesteremia and premature coronary artery disease.

What techniques or procedures do you use in your practice?

As an advanced cardiac imager, I perform and interpret CT angiograms, cardiac CT, cardiac MRI and MRA, exercise and nuclear stress tests, general and complex echocardiograms, and general and structural Transesophageal echocardiograms also known as TEE which are involved in Watchman and complex trans-catheter and surgical valvular procedures.

What would you like patients to know about your approach to care?

The future of medicine is focused on the prevention of disease apart from the treatment. In general, my approach is to treat the patient and not just one disease. To accomplish these goals, I use my expertise and evidence-based medicine to understand and choose the right imaging modality, which results in achieving early diagnosis and hence, the availability of the treatment in a timely manner.

What inspired you to become a doctor?

I grew up in a small town called Kapurthala which is in the state of Punjab in India. I have always been inspired by the healthcare community and the progression it has made over the years to give a healthy lifestyle to the community. I have always wanted to be a part of it and make a difference, and that is the main reason why I chose medicine for my career.
