What are some of the specific conditions you treat?
Neck pain, back pain, joint pain, sciatica neuropathy, muscle and tendon injury
What techniques or procedures do you use in your practice?
Epidural injections, facet block/ablation, joint injection, trigger Point injection, nerve block, spinal cord stimulation, minimally invasive lumbar decompression (MILD procedure).
Describe some of your professional highlights.
More than 16 years of experience in pain management. Previously Chief/Senior PA-Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery and Critical Care St. Michael’s Medical Center. Developed and implemented PA residency program. Guest lecturer at Seton Hall University and Cornell University PA program.
What would you like patients to know about your approach to care?
Compassionate care is my mantra. I practice evidence-based medicine and work with an outstanding team of physicians and staff. I believe that listening to the patient’s concerns and complaints are tantamount to understanding their pain. Then, by reviewing diagnostic testing, such as imaging, electro-diagnostics and taking a thorough medical history, discuss a plan that both the patient and the provider agree is appropriate and effective. My greatest satisfaction is when a patient comes back to the office after a procedure or therapy and thanks me for helping relieve their pain.
What inspired you to become a doctor?
I was a New York City paramedic for many years. I’ve seen suffering. I have been fortunate enough to be able to ease suffering and save lives. But I believe learning is a lifelong endeavor. So, it was just natural to continue my career as a PA.
