Bio
What are some of the specific conditions you treat?
I treat patients with benign medical conditions, such as iron deficiency anemia, to those with active cancer on chemotherapy. I work with our multidisciplinary team to determine appropriate treatment plans and help manage side effects from recommended therapies. I see patients with scheduled follow-up appointments, as well as same day sick visits. I help manage patients on treatment and surveillance, as well as those dealing with end of life.
Describe some of your professional highlights.
I have been fortunate enough to work at Valley for over 10 years. I have worked in various settings within this healthcare system, which has given me unique insight into our patients' experiences. I have participated in research projects, assisted with the development of our electronic medical records system, and filled in to maintain our Fast Track Colonoscopy program.I am a certified APN, with additional Oncology Nursing Certification. I am a member of various professional organizations, which allows me to stay current on research and treatment approaches.
What would you like patients to know about your approach to care?
I believe that the patient has to be at the center of everything I do. My approach to managing problems is based on what the patient physically, mentally, and emotionally can handle and potentially benefit from. There is no 'one size fits all'. I try to explain things in a manner that is understandable and always leave room for questions and discussions.
