What would you like patients to know about your approach to care?

I have a strong interest in healthy aging, preventive care, and optimizing quality of life through individualized, patient-centered treatment plans.

Describe some of your professional highlights.

As a bilingual physician fluent in English and Spanish, I strive to provide culturally sensitive, patient-centered care and to foster clear communication with patients and their families. I am dedicated to collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver compassionate, high-quality care. I am passionate about medical education, bioethics and clinical research.

What inspired you to become a healthcare clinician?

I was inspired to become a physician by a desire to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through compassionate, lifelong care. I chose Family Medicine because it allows me to build lasting relationships with patients and care for the whole person, not just a specific disease. My passion for Geriatric Medicine grew from working closely with older adults and recognizing the privilege of helping them maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life. I value partnering with patients and their families to navigate complex medical decisions and develop personalized care plans that align with their goals and values. As a bilingual physician fluent in English and Spanish, I am passionate about improving access to care and ensuring that every patient feels heard, understood, and respected. Coming from a Venezuelan background, with a father from Columbia, and a husband who is American Jewish, I deeply value the importance of family, cultural connection, and the role these factors play in health and healing. My diverse cultural experiences have shaped my commitment to providing compassionate, culturally sensitive care for every patient.

If you would like to include any additional information in your profile like clinical trials, research projects, current industry relationships, publications or awards, please indicate below.

In addition to my clinical practice, I am actively involved in medical education, bioethics, research, and scholarly activities focused on improving care for older adults. I have earned an Advanced Certificate in Bioethics and Medical Humanities. I have participated in research projects focused on geriatric care and clinical outcomes and have contributed to medical education through mentoring and teaching of trainees. In 2024, I was honored to receive the Award for Excellence in Graduate Medical Education from the American Academy of Family Physicians.
