Bio
What are some of the specific conditions you treat?
My clinical interests are advanced heart failure/transplant cardiology, mechanical circulatory support such as left ventricular assist device (LVAD), pulmonary hypertension and infiltrative disorders such as cardiac sarcoidosis/amyloidosis.
What would you like patients to know about your approach to care?
I believe the central tenet of medicine is the patient-doctor relationship. Through a patient-centered approach, I aspire to help patients and their loved ones understand the current situation and help them navigate the myriad of options they have to accomplish their personal goals. I utilize guideline-directed medical and device therapy to achieve the best possible outcomes for my patients. My philosophy in patient care is to utilize a positive message of promoting heart recovery to the fullest extent possible.
What inspired you to become a doctor?
Growing up, I witnessed the care and dedication my father, who is a physician, had towards his patients and the profound impact he had on his patients' lives. Coupled with my passion for science, I was drawn to a career in medicine. As I navigated the various fields, I found the field of cardiology and in particular, heart failure and transplant cardiology, to be particularly fulfilling to be able to help patients at their most vulnerable moments and utilize innovative therapies to help them achieve a better quality of life.
