Bio

What are some of the specific conditions you treat?

I have particular expertise in prostate cancer, skin cancer, head and neck cancer, gastrointestinal cancers, and cancer of the uterus and cervix. I also treat cancers of the brain and lymphoma.

What techniques or procedures do you use in your practice?

We use the latest radiosurgery such as Gamma Knife and SBRT, and external and internal radiation treatments to reduce the number of treatments and in turn decrease the side effects of radiation therapy without compromising effectiveness.

Describe some of your professional highlights.

I have been a researcher and have published over 50 papers exploring how to more safely and meaningfully use radiation therapy. My research also focuses on precision medicine and how to use genomic data to guide treatment. I graduated from Princeton undergrad, University of Michigan Medical School, NYU for resident training in Radiation Onoclogy, and have training in treatment of prostate brachytherapy at Memorial Sloan Kettering. The past several years I have worked as a medical director at City of Hope Medical Center, a top ranked NCI designated cancer center in Los Angeles. However, originally I am from New Jersey and look forward to taking care of people here in the northern part of the state.

What would you like patients to know about your approach to care?

I was inspired to become a physician by the example of my mother, who was a pediatric surgeon in her native China. After the family came to America, I watched as a child while she put in many years of hard work to obtain her stateside license as a doctor. Today, I strive to continue her legacy by providing patients with the same quality of care that I would want for myself or a family member. As someone who has lived in five states and trained in New York City, I love serving patients of all backgrounds, ethnicities, genders and belief systems. I am a proud husband and father of two young children.
