Bio
What are some of the specific conditions you treat?
I treat a wide range of pulmonary disorders including COPD, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, lung nodules, asthma, interstitial lung disease, hypersensitivity pneumonitis, bronchiectasis, pulmonary embolism, pneumonia, sarcoidosis, cough and shortness of breath. I also treat complex patients who are critically ill in the intensive care units.
What techniques or procedures do you use in your practice?
Some of the techniques that I use in my practice are bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, percutaneous tracheostomy, central venous and arterial catheters, intubation and thoracic ultrasound.
Describe some of your professional highlights.
It has been a pleasure to serve the Valley community for more than a decade and a half. I am proud of my efforts to establish and support a resilient team of critical care specialists, including outstanding nurse practitioners and physician assistants, who can give timely and expert care to the sickest patients at any hour of the day. I am also proud to collaborate with clinical staff in our hospital-based and office-based clinical teams to create a positive workplace and environment where patients can receive excellent and safe care. I participate in multiple committees to improve the safety and quality of our care.
What would you like patients to know about your approach to care?
I believe in listening to the patient in front of you and putting in the effort to get the patient to resources that will help them.
What inspired you to become a doctor?
Initially, it was seeing how a pediatric hematologist/oncologist was able to affect a large number of children by supporting a summer camp for children with cancer and blood disorders; treating kids who were on therapy during their stay. Although I didn't go into pediatrics, I was inspired by the way a doctor could sometimes help not just the physical health of the patient in front of them, but also a whole community.
