Bio

What are some of the specific conditions you treat?

I specialize in the diagnosis and management of all forms of cardiomyopathy, caring for patients across the full clinical spectrum from very early-stage optimization and education to the treatment of cardiogenic shock. I have significant experience in the evaluation and care of patients with left ventricular assist devices (LVAD) and cardiac transplantation. I also have specific interests in genetic screening and inherited cardiomyopathies, cardiac amyloidosis, infiltrative diseases, pulmonary hypertension, right heart failure, valvular heart disease, and cardiopulmonary exercise testing.

What techniques or procedures do you use in your practice?

I specialize in left ventricular assist device management. cardiopulmonary exercise testing and also utilize cardiomems monitoring, hemodynamic testing, genetic testing, echo, cardiac MRI, cardiac CT and nuclear imaging in my clinical practice.

What would you like patients to know about your approach to care?

The field has changed dramatically in recent years with an ever-expanding therapeutic landscape for both medical therapy and devices. I combine evidence-based medicine, physiology, advanced imaging, and hemodynamics with a clear understanding of each patient's goals to find the right therapy for the right person. It is genuinely rewarding to be part of that journey.

Describe some of your professional highlights.

I completed my Fellowship training at Weill Cornell Medicine/New York Presbyterian Hospital where I trained in cardiology and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology. I was a faculty member in the Division of Cardiology at Weill Cornell Medicine for 9 years before starting at Valley Hospital.

What inspired you to become a healthcare clinician?

My interest in medicine, cardiology and the field of advanced heart failure came from a desire to combine scientific curiosity with the opportunity to meaningfully impact people's lives. I'm joining as Director of Heart Failure Innovation and Research and my goal is to help build and be part of a robust advanced heart failure program, one that gives patients in the region access to the full spectrum of modern and meaningful heart failure care.

If you would like to include any additional information in your profile like clinical trials, research projects, current industry relationships, publications or awards, please indicate below.

I have been an active participant in both NIH and industry sponsored trials and studies, with multiple publications in advanced heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, gene therapy, cardiogenic shock and valvular heart disease.
